Nip Magic

Silver Nursing Cups

Size: Regular

Taking the pain out of establishing breastfeeding.

WHEN YOU'LL NEED IT

They are designed to take the pain out of establishing breastfeeding, so are most effective in the first 14 days postpartum (though you might want to wear them longer). Put them in your hospital bag.

HOW TO USE IT

If you are wanting to establish breastfeeding, wear Nip Magic consistently for a few hours at a time between feeds in those early days and weeks. Just make sure you give your nipples time to breathe and dry between feeds, then apply. To apply, simply wear over your nipple with the ventilation holes at the top, inside your bra. To clean, wash with warm soapy water and leave to dry with a clean towel.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

Silver is a natural antibacterial, anti-fungal and antimicrobial metal. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, so using them on your nipples between feeds supports healing and prevents infection. Because breastmilk doesn't only come out when you want it to, these cups often hold a little milk in them while you're wearing them and maintain milk contact, which, as many midwives will tell you, is one of the best things you can put on your nipples to promote healing. Double win. The ventilated design ensures maximum wearability and the cooling silver gives instant oooft after feeding.

FAQ

What silver is Nip Magic made with?

Nip Magic is made from 99.9% silver, which is one of the purest forms of silver. Research has demonstrated that silver contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits which offers a natural way to assist in repairing nipple skin irritation or damage. Nip Magic is nickel free. This is important because nickel is commonly added to jewellery to make the item more robust and durable however it can cause skin sensitivity and allergic reactions.

How does Nip Magic work?

Quite frankly, it’s like magic. Silver is a natural antibacterial, anti-fungal and antimicrobial metal. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, and when worn, the silver nursing cups can work to prevent and repair nipple damage.

Do I have to wear these all the time?

No, but if you are wanting to establish breastfeeding, the more the better in those early days.

Firstly, we’d recommend you wear them preventatively, to help you avoid the painful experience of nipple damage. Best used consistently, wear between feeds, for the first few weeks. If you are wanting to repair nipple damage, wear them the same way, to support healing and avoiding infection. Keep them close by as they will come in handy when baby goes through a growth spurt and cluster feeding occurs.

How does it work with breast milk?

Breast milk is a natural repairer, and in those early days, your breasts will leak milk. When you wear Nip Magic, the cups will catch and hold a little bit of letdown milk, which can work alongside Nip Magic to promote healing. In order to keep nipples healthy, they need lots of fresh air so the ventilation holes in Nip Magic will help, however adequate fresh air is key as this will assist with healing and reducing the risk of infection. A few minutes of fresh air post feed goes a long way.

What are the breathing holes for?

The ventilated design ensures maximum wearability, allowing air to assist with keeping the nipples dry. If the skin stays moist for long periods of time from milk leaks, sweat, or wet breast pads, the skin softens too much and becomes fragile. That makes it far more likely to crack, blister, or bleed.

How do I clean Nip Magic?

Wash with warm soapy water and leave to dry with a clean towel.
