Can I use these instead of toilet paper?
Yes, if that works for you! In those early days, toilet paper can feel really rough on your tender perineum, so Peri Wipes are a good alternative (although will not be absorbent). But please be kind to your pipes, and dispose of them in the bin, not the toilet, just like you would a baby wet wipe.
Are these best for a vaginal birth, caesarean birth, or both?
Peri Wipes are created to soothe perineums that have been made sore, irritated or tender from the intensity of labour and vaginal birth. However, even if you’ve had a planned C-section, these are a great addition to your hospital bag, as your vulva and vagina are still recovering from the swelling and tenderness of pregnancy.
How many packs do I need?
Each pack has 60 wipes, so start with one and go from there!
What if I have stitches?
Being designed for recovering perineums, these are alcohol-free and usually safe for use even with stitches, but consult your medical team for certainty in your unique situation.
